In this e-age, with instant communication in the form of mobiles and chat, instant knowledge with the Internet, can instant approval credit cards be left far behind? In fact, an instant approval credit card has become somewhat of a necessity now. What if you are online and see this unbelievable offer of an iPod going cheap or a Sony Viao at throwaway prices? And then you realize your card is maxed out! Simple, apply for an instant approval credit card online, and get a credit card approved within a minute flat. Gratify your shopping instincts by getting a great thing at a great price.

Pros and Cons of Instant Approval Credit Cards

Instant approval credit cards, like any innovation or technology, come with their own unique set of pros and cons. For example, instant approval credit card online may give you immediate access to a new credit card, however, you may need to pay slightly more fees for this card in comparison to a regular card. Also, you may need to deal with a few spending limits on this new instant approval credit card, till the card physically arrives in your hands. Finally, as a consumer you need to be aware that the more credit cards you own, the more you are tempted to splurge beyond your means. Especially if you are given instant approval credit cards at a moments notice, your need for instant gratification is further fuelled. And this is precisely what the card companies bank upon our consumerist lifestyle where we may need quick and speedy access to money.

The Functioning of Instant Approval Credit Cards

But how do they do this? How can an instant approval credit card online take a minute whereas a regular vanilla credit card takes a day or more? Well, it is very simple as the whole process is computerized. Your computer contacts their computer when you place a request for an instant approval credit card. The computer of the credit card company, in turn, contacts the credit bureaus computer to obtain your credit information.

They access your credit history and FICO score to gauge if you are risk-worthy. Here, two things can happen now. If everything looks OK, you will receive instant approval. If not, your application is flagged and then it needs to be approved by a banking official. Even though this delays the process, once everything is cleared, the card company gives you instant approval for a new card.

How Instant Approval Credit Cards Help

Once you have your new card in your hand, you will soon realize that can it actually help you save money. Assume, for example, that you are stuck in an alien city, in-transit to your destination because your vehicle broke down. You have only cash, no cards, and you realize that the locals will fleece you because they know you are desperate for help. Instead of paying through your nose for your car repairs, log onto the net from a cyber caf close by, get an instant approval credit card, call for a pick-up service, and have your car towed away to a reliable, cost-effective car garage.

Some of these cards have terrific features. For example, some instant approval credit card online are offered with low sign up amounts or are completely free. If you are lucky, then you may get a zero annual fee offer. Such instant approval credit cards also offer a zero balance transfer or they may have a limited introductory offer of low interest rates. Therefore, such cards will help you to save money if you can use them judiciously.

The concept of credit is not new. In ancient Egypt and Babylon more than 3,000 years ago merchants bartered with currency and services in order to maximize their spending processes, often collecting what we now call interest on payments that were late or past due. Credit cards themselves, however, didnt surface until the early 1950s.

American Express and the Diners Club were the forerunners in plastic money, and issued their first credit cards to fewer than 200 Americans for use in restaurants and entertainment venues in New York City. More of its kind were issued in New England until the late sixties, but none of these credit cards could be paid off over long periods of time their balances were due immediately. Bank of America issued the Bank Americard in California in 1959, and this was the first card to be accepted almost universally.

In the early 1970s, the first magnetic strip was developed, and this was what launched the use of credit cards as we know them today. Although the magnetic stripe system was used in England in the early 1960s, it was not standardized until the 70s in the United States.

The Bank Americard eventually became Visa, and a company called Master Charge (formed in the late 60s) eventually become MasterCard. These were the two most popular credit card issuers, as they remain today. They revolutionized the magnetic strip on credit cards and began to form credit card offers that allowed debts to be paid off incrementally.

As the bankcard industry became more widely spread, financial institutions that were interested in issuing credit cards began to align themselves with either the Visa Association or the MasterCard Association. Using this method, even small banks were able to make credit cards available by sharing program costs and offering universal solutions to consumers. In the late 80s, this was made even easier when bylaws were generated to allow any single financial institution to offer both Visa and MasterCard bankcards.

In the late 80s, processing companies began to emerge, which allowed both Visa and MasterCard to streamline their paper flow processes and to reduce the possibilities of credit card fraud. They offered mediation to credit card association members so that disputes could be resolved quickly and easily, with less cost to the financial institutions.

Until 1987, American Express had remained on the back burner, only offering credit cards that had to be paid immediately. Their target consumers were high-rollers in business industries who used the cars for entertainment purposes, and could then pay off the balances. But in keeping with the new trends exploding across the United States, they altered their business model to accommodate the average consumer, thus becoming another forerunner in the credit card industry.

Discover Card appeared in the early 90s as an alternative for consumers. Originally a division of Sears corporation, now owned by Morgan Stanley, Discover Card sought to change the credit card industry by offering alternatives to the Visa and MasterCard traditions. Discover is now one of the most largely accepted forms of payment worldwide, and rivals only American Express internationally.

Credit cards have changed astronomically over the last forty-or-so years, and will undoubtedly continue to evolve as further technology is developed. In recent years, measures against fraud and identity theft have been implemented, and credit card companies are offering more and more benefits to consumers. The competition between Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover has proven a significant benefit to the public, and will likely continue to grow.

It has always been practical for people never to bring a huge amount of cash with them when theyre going out and theyre not completely sure that it will be a safe journey all the way. And thats why such items as checks, ATM cards and of course, credit cards, were created. If and when you have the misfortune to lose any of them, all you have to do is call your bank, inform them of what happened and thats it! Your money is still safe and sound.

Also, because there are just so many wonderful things that one can buy in the most unexpected places and it would be nice to feel that wherever you go, youve got the full value of your bank balance with you. If its in cash, that would be terribly impractical. But if it comes in the form of a credit card, well, then, now youre talking!

There are a lot of advantages one can experience when having a credit card of your own but this time, well only concentrate on one particular kind of credit card: the reward type. What are the great things that one can experience with a reward credit card? Is there a bad side to owning a reward credit card? These questions shall be hopefully answered successfully in the succeeding paragraphs.

The Great Things about Reward Credit Cards:
How the reward system works is quite simple. Each time you use your credit card, you earn a reward or bonus point. The higher the purchase value of the item you bought using your credit card, the more reward or bonus points you receive. Simple, isnt it?

Now, these reward or bonus points the term used for this depends on your credit card company but its meaning is basically the same may have an equivalent value in cash or, when accumulated, can be used to win free stuff for you.

For example, a free Gucci bag, according to the rules of the reward system of your credit card, is equivalent to one thousand bonus points. Each reward point, on the other hand, has an equivalent value of $10. That means, for every $10 you consume in your credit card spending limit, you earn one bonus point.

Theres more. Because credit card companies profit from your credit card usage, youll notice that each year, the list of items available in exchange of reward points is getting longer, better and more varied. In fact, the skys the limit to what you can gain for free just by using your reward credit card!

So what are you waiting for? Grab an application form and you just might be in time for the spring sale!

Credit cards, if used wisely, can be extremely handy and useful. By carrying a credit card you will eliminate the worry that comes with carry cash in regards to theft. Additionally, if you choose the right credit cards they could come with rewards when they are used. Of course, this depends on the specific credit card company but some rewards could include air miles, gift vouchers, or shopping discounts at particular stores. Generally, how it works is that you accumulate points and when you have earned enough points they can be redeemed for the awards.

When selected a credit card you should do so by making sure you will receive a good value for your money. Most companies that offer credit cards, also offer rewards of some type, it is important that you select one that is suited well for you and offers the best value. Additionally, you should use any credit card wisely and make certain that your expenses and the income you have coming in balance out evenly. When choosing a credit card, find rewards that will benefit you and what you want. For example, if you travel frequently, you should choose a credit card that will reward you with air miles. If you shop at one store frequently, find a credit card that will offer you cash back or special discounts for shopping at the specific store.

Other credit cards will offer you a point system, which will allow you to choose specific brand named items in exchange for your points. If you choose to go this route, make sure the items will meet your needs, wants, and desires. Additionally, when you are selecting a credit card, choose one that offers you an easily maintained credit limit. If the chosen credit card offers you a rewards system, it can help you pay off some fees that are associated with the credit card, such as the annual fee. It important that you wisely use your credit card, to keep yourself out of financial peril. Choose a credit card that will offer you extensive benefits and use it with care to make sure that you can afford to pay the balance each month, so you are not racked with high interest rates and fees.

Having a credit card takes extreme self discipline and it is extremely important that you pay off your balance each month. If you do not, you will begin to gain interest charges on the balance and may find yourself with an extensive amount of credit card debt before you know it.

A rewards credit card is a great way for you to get something back for all of the money you have been spending. These rewards can come in many different forms such as gift cards, points etc. If you already have a rewards card, is it the right one? If you don’t already have a rewards credit card, then you could be missing out on offers that could be to your advantage. There’s an old saying that you don’t get anything in life for free, but some credit card companies contradict that saying by offering rewards every time you use their card.

The card companies make offers like those of their best rewards credit cards to attract new business. They also do it to hold onto their existing customers. The credit card business is very competitive and companies are constantly thinking up new ways to attract new customers and reward old customers for their loyalty. The reward credit card is only the latest in a long line of great ways to promote their cards.

Some of the best reward credit cards on offer give the customer savings on items like travel with air miles, groceries, gasoline, even hotel bills. If you want to take advantage of what these rewards credit cards offer, it’s best to find one that will give you the most benefit. It’s no good getting a card that offers free air miles for instance, if you’re afraid of flying. Go online, or look for adverts that offer you something you need. Take your time in choosing a card that’s going to be beneficial to you. Have a look at your normal spending habits. Is there any of the rewards credit cards on offer that can make you a weekly saving on items you normally buy?

Rewards credit cards that offer rebates on gasoline purchases are commonly available. Surely, you are all well aware of the continuing rise in prices of gas. Wouldn’t it be great to offset some of these price increases by getting some cash returned to you every time you make a purchase of gasoline? Many a gasoline rewards credit card will guarantee you a flat percentage cash back on every purchase. Some of the best rewards credit cards will give you 5% back on every purchase of gasoline, as well as another 1% back on all other purchases. If you do a lot of traveling by automobile then this type of card could save you a considerable amount of money throughout the year.

Why not look for a card that offers you the best of both worlds. Some lenders will offer 0% APR credit cards that also offer rewards. Even if you have a rewards credit card you could change it for another that is offering 0% interest. Many of the lenders will let you transfer your existing balance to a new card which can be of great benefit. Doing so could reduce your monthly outgoings as well as giving you the benefit of a rewards scheme.

There is also more than one rewards credit card that offers the customer points. Every time you use your rewards credit card to make a purchase you are given points. These are normally offered at a rate of 1 point to every dollar you spend. Some companies offer you more if you shop at a partner company. The difference between the offers lenders make is when you come to redeem your points. Some will redeem your points for gift certificates, others will have an online shopping portal where you can go and choose gifts that have a value in points. Your rewards credit cards points can then be exchanged for these goods. Banks and lenders have partnered with many retail companies to offer rewards credit cards that can be redeemed against the partners goods. Partners include retail stores, hotels and airlines. If any of these are products which you regularly use, then these could be the best rewards credit cards for you. Apply today for your best rewards credit cards and find out that you can get something for nothing.

Traditionally there have been two groups of people who have always found it very difficult to get access to credit cards. These two groups are listed below:

People with no, or very little income
People with negative credit histories

These two groups would have found it next to impossible to get approved for credit cards in the past. However, nowadays it is becoming easier and easier to get your hands on a credit card and accordingly, these groups are finding it easier to get access to credit cards.

The reasons for this are that the competition in the UK credit card industry has increased dramatically in recent years. As more and more players have entered the market, it is now possible for almost anyone to get a credit card. Many credit card providers from the US have entered the UK credit card industry while at the same time, there are internet and other non traditional providers who are also all fighting for a share of the lucrative UK credit card market. As a result they are willing to lend to more and more people who in the past would have been regarded as simply too much of a credit risk.

What this means for students is that while in the past they may not have been able to get their hands on a credit card, it is now relatively easy for them to do so. This has many advantages for students as it means they have a means of paying for goods and services online that do not accept the more common debit cards that students have had to limit themselves to in the past. The other main benefit of student credit cards is that they can use them while abroad travelling and this no doubt is a welcome convenience for the student population.

There are disadvantages to having a credit card as a student however. The main disadvantage is that it is very easy to get into credit card debt very quickly. Frequently the spending limits on student credit cards are thousands of pounds and any student who spent all of this would be finding it very difficult in deed to get the money paid off. At the same time, with interest rates among the highest in the lending industry, any student who does rack up a high credit card debt will find the debt increasing rapidly at such a rate that it will surely be unmanageable without drastic steps.

The other disadvantages of student credit cards are dwarfed by the risk of getting into debt problems and therefore, if you think there is any chance that you will not be able to handle the responsibility of a credit card and keep your spending under control, then probably a student credit card would not be the best idea in your current circumstances.

Please remember, using a student credit card is not always a bad idea, taking out a student credit card at a time when you have no previous credit record may be a good idea. This would enable you to build up a healthy credit record, so when you are finally ready to apply for a better credit card that comes with better offers, there is a higher chance that your application will be successful.

On most days I love my work as a financial advisor to my wide variety of clients. I love helping people take a serious look at their financial situation and helping them make wise financial decisions. I get frustrated, however, when my clients “put the buggy before the horse” so to speak and start worrying about things like credit problems before they have even applied for credit. I have had countless conversations about the importance of filling out a credit card application as the first step toward building credit.

It is shocking how many people forget about the credit card application as a necessary means to the end of actually having a credit card and being able to build up their credit card situation. So quite frequently I have to sit down with a client and work through the process of filling out a credit card application before we can move any further in our discussion about the importance of building up good credit for the rest of their lives.

The process of applying for credit can be rather overwhelming if you have no idea what kind of credit to apply for or what kind of credit card deals to avoid. If you’re anything like the average citizen, you receive countless credit card applications in the mail each week. How can you determine what really is a good deal and what is beneficial for your future? I’d encourage everyone to take their pile of credit card applications and make a visit to a financial advisor as soon as possible. Allow a professional to assist you in the decision making process.

The next step is just to fill out the credit card applications that you have chosen to go with and see which ones you are approved for. You might have a little trouble getting approved for your first credit card, but you’ll never know unless you actually fill out the credit card application to be approved. This is one of the simpliest yet most overlooked steps in the process of becoming people for whom getting credit isn’t an issue. So start at the beginning and do what it takes to get good credit.

Your credit card speaks for you and what your spending ability is. How much can you spend and how much have you already used up from your credit limit? All this can be found out using this rectangular piece of plastic. Certain stores have a facility wherein they use a voice authentication system with a touch-tone phone. The most common system though is the magstripe-card swipe terminal where you swipe the card at the terminal through a system of Electronic Data Capture EDC. There is also the option of using your credit card at virtual terminals on the Internet, where you can make your purchase online and pay for it online as well.

When you are at a store and you make a purchase, the cashier at the counter swipes your credit card on the magstripe reader and the EDC software dials a certain telephone number, which is normally an organization that will give them the go-ahead signal on a purchase request. This company is given the name of the store, the credit card number, the expiry date and the credit card limit and all this within seconds of swiping it. Once done, you sign on the bill and voila! The purchase is yours.

The power of owning a credit card is just that. Choose, swipe and sign and it is all done. Your signature at the back of the credit card is used to verify your authenticity or if it is a photo credit card then it of course has your photograph to ensure that it is not misused. Now, though there is an innovative application, which uses the highest form of cryptography. The smart card as it is called has a microprocessor in the credit card. This way, the user of the credit card will have to identify him every time he uses the card just as you would at an ATM dispensing center.

With a smart card, you will have to verify the card and the card will verify the user as well. This will ensure complete authenticity. Once the card and the card reader establish mutual confirmation, then the transaction is carried out in such a manner wherein no one, including the store cashier or the card owner himself can do anything at all about getting any information about the credit card purchase. This is a totally fraud-proof system. Apart from a PIN the user will know nothing else.

Smart cards first came into being in France in 1984. It is in fact replacing the regular plastic cards that we use in the United States now and Visa and MasterCard are very much in the league of changing the way we use credit cards now on. The smart card enables you to use it as a debit card as well as a credit card. You could also use it as a reloadable account, where you can spend from a certain stored account.

So this way, its enhanced memory enables you to use it in many ways much more advanced than the magnetic stripe cards that we have been hitherto using. This way, you need own only a single card instead of stuffing your wallet with a number of credit cards. The smart card today is not so widely accepted over various countries and establishments, though it is expected to take over the world soon.

For several years now, one of the most sought after features on a credit card has been a long 0% balance transfer deal, almost to the exclusion of any other feature except maybe the headline interest rate of the card. More recently though, balance transfers have become less popular, not least because of the introduction of transfer handling fees, and there’s now a new feature that more and more customers are considering to be of higher importance, namely cashback.

According to recent research, over a fifth of us now use a card that offers cashback or a rewards scheme, and the number has recently overtaken that of balance transfer users for the first time. So why has a seemingly simple feature such as cashback displaced the once mighty balance transfer deal in our priorities?

Credit cards have always suffered from the perception that they are expensive to use, with high interest charges and penalty fees – a reputation, it has to be said, that isn’t altogether undeserved. Cashback cards give us the opportunity to turn that on its head, and actually come out on top financially by using our cards for everyday purchases.

For every purchase you make, a cashback card will effectively give you a refund of a small percentage of the purchase price. In the early days of cashback, this percentage was so small it was hardly worth considering – a 0.25% rebate was virtually worthless to most people with moderate spending habits. These days however, the figures are much more attractive, with a 3% rate not uncommon as an introductory offer. This kind of rebate is definitely worth having, and if you use your cashback card for all of your day to day shopping, the numbers can mount up surprisingly quickly.

What’s more, if you use your card purely as a convenient payment method and not as a means of borrowing, and repay your full balance every month, then you’ll avoid paying any interest fees or charges. This means that the money you ‘earn’ through cashback is totally free money – you’re being paid simply to buy your usual shopping with a card rather than with cash.

Sounds good? Well, it’s not hard to see why this kind of card has increased in popularity, but there are a couple of points to think about before applying for an account.

The main problem is that most of the time, you’ll only receive your cashback once a year, either by check or refund to your account. This is fine for most people, but the cashback offer will be dependent on you sticking to the credit agreement. If, even accidentally, you make a late payment then you’ll have broken the terms of your agreement and will lose all the rebate you’ve been building up. Keeping up to date with your repayments is therefore even more essential than normal with a cashback card.

Secondly, many cards feature a ’spending limit’ over which no cashback will be earned. Most such limits are fairly generous, but check to make sure your expected annual spending on the card is within this limit if you want to maximise how much total rebate you can get.

So, are cashback cards the future? If you’re a regular spender who can clear your balance in full every month, then they are very worthwhile indeed, but if you’re planning to carry a balance then you might be better served by getting a card with a lower standard rate and no cashback or rewards feature.

The internet is not only a good place for making comparisons between the various business credit card offers, but it is also a great channel to make your applications. This should make things somewhat easier and a great deal more convenient for you. You simply hop from one website to the next to investigate the different business credit card packages. When you finally find the business credit card which best suits your business, you can apply for that business credit card instantly.

If the prospect of using the Internet to shop and apply for business credit cards does not really appeal to you, there are other methods you can use to evaluate and apply for a card. You could look at the many business credit card offers that arrive in your snail-mailbox, write letters to the issuers requesting brochures or even pay them a visit in person, if that is your preference. But it is only on the Internet where you can immediately find all the information you need, compare all the features offered to your hearts content and see what the various consumers and experts have to say about the different business credit card packagesall in one place.

Using search engines is really not a hard thing to do! By simply typing the words business credit card offers in a search engines field, you will receive a whole bunch of business credit card offers that would never have otherwise come to you by snail mail. Should you for example want to narrow down your search to find those business credit cards that cater for people with bad credit, you simply add the word bad to the search. In a matter of seconds, you will have the right options displayed on your screen.

Some of the sites are purposely designed with the capability to allow in-depth comparisons between the various business credit cards. These thoughtful sites can tell you everything and anything you need to know about the different business credit cards on the market. They allow you to drill down in order to gather detail information under various business credit card categories, such as rebates and rewards business credit cards, business credit cards for people with a bad credit history, cash back business credit cards, zero APR business credit cards and a whole lot more.

You should not apply for the first business credit card you see online. Only apply after you have checked and compared every business credit card on the market. Once you have identified the appropriate business credit card package for your business, you can complete the online business credit card application. This is secure, quick and easy.

Once you have successfully submitted your online business credit card application, an employee from the business credit card issuer will contact you to discuss both your credit card application and the terms and conditions. As a standard, most issuers will need your signature on the paperwork. If this is the case, you will normally be able to print the credit agreement. If the site does not offer downloadable forms, simply request the issuer to send you these forms to either your email or postal address.
